I’m gonna try to go from now (Sept. 14) to one month later (End of Oct. 13) on just one tank of gas.
Trips to school and back (22): Min. 136.4 miles
Trips to church and back (4): Min. 40 miles
Trips to drum practice and back (4): Min. 19.2 miles
Total: Min. 195.6, ~200
Average MPG in the city: 16
Fuel tank size: 19.1 gal
Range: ~300 miles
That’s a big difference, but I’m still a bit wary. I probably won’t be able to resist the temptation to drive the Chally to Tae Kwon Do on Tuesday/Thursday (4.6 miles each) or church on Sunday (10 miles each)
I’ll update on Sept. 29, the halfway mark.

I last a month on a tank most of the time - but only because I commute to work on my motorcycle (or take the train in bad weather), so my car is almost exclusively driven on weekends these days.
Good luck in your efforts!

I did something similar this year...
I got far less kms for my insurance than I needed. So I built a tracking sheet in excel, and managed to keep myself in check. Until last month, when it looked like I was home free. I'm now way over. Just watch the home straight, that's where stuff goes wrong.

Good luck. I would love to make it that long, but stuff always comes up and people demand I drive for lunch because I have enough seats (that are not covered in crap, plus I have a new car).

I could probably get close to a month if I still lived at my old apartment. My commute was like 7 miles.

Good Luck. I barely get about 5 days out of a tank of gas, and I get 33+ MPG. A 40 mile commute each way tends to make it impossible not to use that much gas though.

I feel like I could actually do this, but it's sketchy as hell since my gas gauge doesn't work. And I use about half a tank in two weeks....

My loop each weekday is Home-Work-Gym-Home. - 13.8km.
22 (weekdays) x 13.8 = 303.6 km.
Full tank will get me 400 km, leaving me 96 km to drive on the weekends, which I never use because I walk.
My car has only done 10,800 km in 2 years. That’s 6710 miles.

I was actually flipping cars yearly, roughly 5-6000 km on the clock, this one I’ll be holding onto for another 1 - 1.5 years.

One month??? Holy hell, I would have a huge trouble making one week happen, much less a month lol. And my commute to work is only 15 miles round trip. Gas is too cheap to avoid using it! Plus I always need a nice long drive on the weekends. Good luck, you sure will need it.

I drove ~5000 miles between just April-May this year lol. Less than 7000 in 2 years is crazy sounding to me.

damn I go through a tank a week. Both my Ranger and my MR2 have about a 220 mile range. The difference is that the MR2 has about a 8 gallon tank and the ranger holds about 16 gallons

Considering im driving to cincinatti this weekend that wouldn’t work for me. That’s basically a tank of gas each way in the explorer

I bought a car that was averaging under 2k miles/year.
I generally do about 7-7.5k a year, but I’m on track to do 10k this year due to the aforementioned problems with others. If they even shared driving evenly, it would save me at least that many miles...

Haha. I feel you with the tiny commute (which actually makes my mileage a lot worse than it would otherwise be - the car’s mpg estimate is way off due to all the short distance cold engine driving). My car doesn’t even get up to temperature on probably 90% of my trips.
I figure mine does under 300 miles per tank and I seem to fill around 250. According to the fuelly log, 312 is the furthest I have gone between fills @ 27.7mpg. The overall average is 26.8 and the best I’ve ever pulled was 39.6 (all highway).

Right? Honestly, how does one manage to voluntarily choose church of glorious extra sleep on the weekend?

I think my friend with a V8 grand Cherokee can do that. He walks to the train station for work.
He could, in theory, not drive at all for a month. Groceries would be a hassle but it's doable.

I wish I could do this.
Trips to college/band practice and back (20x60): ~1,260 mi.
Lunch runs (~12x~3): ~36 mi.
Football games (2x60): 120 mi.
Dropping sister off at school (4x6): 24 mi.
Total: ~1,441 mi. minimum.
Yup, that isn’t gonna work.
For fun:
Avg. combined MPG as measured: 24.5
Gallons used per month: 58.8
Supposing gas is about $2/gal (which is very optimistic), I’m spending about $120 on gas alone every month.

Jesus has even given you an out:
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

I carpool and typically do a little over 300 mi. per week. (around 310 till the gas light comes on)
Best of luck!

22 gallon tank with a 50 gallon reserve and 15mpg average?
Yea, staying under 1000 miles for the month shouldn’t be a problem.

Pretty sure that means you’re supposed to not show off that you’re holy. You’re still supposed to go to church. If you’re one who attends church.

My V50 has a 15 gallon tank and my dad has been DDing it while his V70 is in the shop...it literally needs gas every other day, but it barely costs $25 at each fill up...
